COVID-19 STATEMENT

Thank you to SA Health, the AMA, the support organisations and Department of Health for their enormous effort to co-ordinate a structured response to this pandemic, as we prepare for the challenging and rapidly changing times ahead.

As of the 1st April, in line with the Government enforced deadline, we have ceased all elective surgery. If you had surgery cancelled, Dr Savvoulidis’ nurse will be contact with patients individually to discuss how this will affect you.

At this stage we are open - but Dr Savvoulidis has chosen to restrict face to face consulting, in order to minimise contact and maintain the principles of social distancing. Dr Savvoulidis will be conducting telephone consultations where possible, to provide continuity of treatment to his patients.

Urgent reviews and new patients will continue to be seen in the clinic. You will however be asked a few short screening questions prior to your arrival. These precautions are not meant to alarm or offend anyone.

  • Have your travelled overseas in the last 3 weeks?
  • Have you come into contact with anyone who has travelled overseas, interstate, to the Barossa or been to the Adelaide Airport in the last 3 weeks?
  • In the last 2 weeks, have you been in close contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19?
  • In the last 2 weeks have you had a cough or difficulty breathing.

If you answer yes to any question, there may be 14 day isolation period that applies to you.

Whilst we have always had strict infection control practices, during this time we:

  • Have provided additional hand sanitiser in our clinic and ask all patients to sterilise their hands upon entering and leaving the clinic.
  • Have staggered our bookings to minimise time in our waiting rooms.
  • Increased our disinfecting of the common areas and the consult rooms.
  • All magazines have been removed from the waiting room during this time.

As always, we appreciate the continued support of our GP’s, other specialists, allied health colleagues and their support staff working with us during this time.

The health of our patients continues to be our priority and wish to thank everyone for their understanding at this difficult time.

Please be aware that due to COVID-19, our office hours may vary. Please call ahead to ensure there is staff in attendance.
